Sanitation Worker

  • Follow strict Covid-19 sanitation procedures.
  • Responsible for cleaning the facility to GPP/GMP standards.
  • Perform cleaning functions throughout the facility.
  • Remove waste bins regularly and ensure waste is disposed accordingly.
  • Maintain cleaning supply inventory and ensure materials are kept in clean condition at all times.
  • Support the cleaning of a GPP/GMP manufacturing facility by mopping floors, wiping walls, and disinfecting equipment.
  • Use and maintain appropriate supplies required to perform in a safe, economical and proper manner.
  • Report malfunctioned equipment and/or broken furniture, fixtures, or equipment and of any non-caretaking items requiring maintenance.
  • Empty industrial ashtrays when required.
  • Support sanitation-based vendors that provide floor mats and other linens.
  • Use and maintains all required safety and protective equipment.
  • Regularly disinfect keyboards, light switches, phones, doorknobs, and other hot-spot items.
  • Compliance with safety requirements and commitment to wearing PPE while performing tasks.
  • Clean industrial equipment in a timely manner and maintain a well function dish-pit area. 
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • 1-2 years’ experience sanitizing/cleaning GMP, GPP, or HACCP certified buildings is preferred. 
  • Experience as a custodian, including cleaning commercial buildings, knowledge of cleaning strategies, waste management and recycling processes.
  • Able to communicate sanitation cleaning inventory needs and requirements.
  • Experience upholding WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), and OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety Act) requirements. 
  • Able to follow detailed established procedures and methods to perform job duties and prioritize the order in which assigned areas are cleaned.
  • Able to work with standard GMP/GPP/HACCP required cleaning agents. 
  • Must be capable of heavy lifting and other strenuous physical activity to perform duties such as: continuous walking, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, turning, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling and climbing, moving heavy items, etc.
